Edwardian Lemonade Recipe


Ingredients:
  • 4 lemons 
  • 3lb sugar
  • 2 pints of boiling water
Equipment:

  • a grater
  • a bowl or jug
  • a large pan or kettle to boil the water
WASH YOUR HANDS FOR HYGIENE PURPOSES!!!

Method:

  1. Grate the rind of the lemon and set aside.
  2. Slice the lemons and squeeze the juice out.
  3. Put the sugar into a large bowl or jug.
  4. Add the lemon rind and juice.
  5. Pour the water on and let the sugar dissolve.
  6. Leave to cool before straining and bottling.
  7. Dilute to taste.
  8. Serve chilled.
